On Saturday 12th June children and young people are invited to take part in a range of events created by Wexford artists, creatives and organisations.
Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people. It is a day that celebrates and encourages children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity. It is a day for doing, working and creating where young people can enjoy a range of fun activities and learn new skills.

Slaney ar Strae
Slaney ar Strae is a bilingual interactive mini-drama, set in Redmond Park, that can be watched anywhere and is available on the Cruinniu na nOg website and the County Wexford Libraries YouTube channel from June 12th. To go along with the drama we have an activity pack which can be downloaded here to help you to explore your surroundings and create your own mini-play afterwards either in the park or in a green area near you.
Let’s Build our Thaumatrope
Through this workshop young people will explore animation through the making of their very own Thaumatrope- a popular Victorian toy this is available on the Cruinniu na nOg website and the County Wexford Libraries YouTube channel from June 12th. My Town and Me! Architecture Scavenger Hunt
Explore the town on this self-guided waling trail that will take you on a journey jam-packed with architectural gems. See if you can spot all the hidden features, follow the clues and discover the unique buildings that are all around you! The scavenger hunt is available for both Wexford and Enniscorthy town and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. You will need paper, pencils and imagination.
Virtual Cruinniú na nÓg Exhibition
Watch the video links below and submit your artwork to be part of the Virtual Cruinniú na nÓg exhibition hosted by the Wexford Arts Centre and the Presentation Centre. Submit your work to email@example.com before June 4th. A special online exhibition launch will take place on June 12th for all participants.
Join the REMOTE photo challenge
Can you tell a story in three images? Aoife and Phoebe will help you to create your own visual story through photography. Watch the three-part video tutorial on any of the County Wexford Library Facebook Pages and download the handy photography resource which will help you to identify your subject, plan your story and set up your shots. You will then be ready to take part in the REMOTE challenge on Saturday the 12th.
