County Wexford Culture Night 2022
Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. This year, it will take place on Friday 23 September from 4pm. Doors are opened late and unique events are specifically programmed at participating locations and thanks to the continued support of the Arts Council, Local Authorities and cultural organisations throughout the island of Ireland, all activities are made available to the public free of charge.
Wexford County Council are now looking for expressions of interest to participate in this year's event through their open call which can be downloaded below. Heritage and cultural organisations, groups and individual creative practitioners who are interested in delivering events as part of the Culture Night programme can now submit an application. We are keen to receive proposals that look at culture in the broadest sense and can include but are not limited to architecture, design, languages, heritage, environment, and the arts. There will be four main strands under which Wexford County Council will programme free events throughout the districts of Gorey, Enniscorthy, Wexford, New Ross and Rosslare.
These will focus on:
1. A late night programme with performance art, dance, literature, music, comedy or theatrical events (9pm till late).
2. A diverse programme for all ages, including family friendly events that can include but are not limited to architecture, design, languages, heritage, environment, and the arts. (4pm - 8.30pm).
3. Heritage programme - we are looking for specific proposals from organisations and creative practitioners operating in any discipline to propose an event that interacts with Co. Wexford's natural, built and cultural heritage.
4. New Voices programme- We are looking for events that celebrate new communities and underrepresented voices. Events should promote and connect artists from marginalised backgrounds and showcase the culturally diverse communities living in the County. We would love to hear from any community, and particularly welcome applications from the Traveller community, new communities and the LGBTI+ community.
Application forms can be downloaded here.
Deadline for expression of interest: MONDAY JUNE 20th, 5PM
