ISO50001 certification of Wexford County Council’s Energy Management System

Wexford County Council is currently applying to achieve ISO50001 certification of our Energy Management System.

What is ISO 50001?

ISO 50001:2018 international standard for Energy Management provides the most robust framework for optimising energy efficiency in public and private sector organizations.
ISO 50001:2018 specifies the requirements for Wexford County Council to develop, implement, and improve its Energy Management System. This allows Wexford County Council to follow a specific framework that helps to achieve continual improvement in energy performance, efficiency, usage, and consumption.

ISO 50001:2018 requires Wexford County Council to establish policies and targets for the efficient use of energy, to set aims and objectives to meet those targets and review their impacts and to achieve continuous improvements of energy performance.

Certification will demonstrate that the energy management system meets the requirements of ISO 50001:2018. This gives customers, stakeholders, employees and management confidence that Wexford County Council is managing energy use efficiently throughout the organisation.
