The Digital Skills for Citizens Scheme is an initiative under the Government’s National Digital Strategy, funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment. The Scheme provides free basic digital skills training where citizens attending classes will learn the skills they need to use and enjoy the many benefits that using the internet offers.
Training classes will include the following:
- An introduction to the Internet
- Internet safety
- How to send and receive emails
- Using online government services e.g. motor tax, passports
- Using online banking services
- How to use ‘apps’
- How to use social media
- Online shopping
These classes are hosted by MediaSkool and are suitable for those ages 45+. Classes are for 2 hours per week for 5 weeks, starting on Tuesday 8th January. Maximum class size is 8 people.
