Be part of a national drive to increase survival rates from cardiac arrest. The Irish Heart Foundation is providing Hands for Life Free National Community CPR Training for the General Public in Gorey Library on Thursday 7 March at 3 sessions:
4-4.45pm
6-6.45pm
7.30-8.15pm
If a relative had a cardiac arrest, would you know what to do? 70% of all cardiac arrests happen in the home and by starting CPR immediately you can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. CPR is a simple skill but for the best CPR it requires some practice.
The training is a 40-minute awareness course delivered by an experienced Irish Heart Foundation instructor. Each attendee will get the opportunity to practice on a mannequin. Each training session can accommodate 30 members of the public. Members of the public will learn how to recognise a cardiac arrest and how to perform good quality CPR.
