Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr. Michael Sheehan and Cllr. John Fleming, chairman of New Ross Municipal District will deliver the opening address with Myles Courtney chairing the session and questions from the audience.
Dr Bríd McGrath will give a talk on ‘How to get a charter: New Ross’s negotiations, 1611-12’.
Dr Linda Doran will then speak about ‘New Ross in the seventeenth century – stability and conflict’.
Wexford County Council Archivist Gráinne Doran will also talk about ‘Shining a light on early town governance in New Ross’ – enhancing user access to the town’s earliest municipal minutes.
