World Breastfeeding Week 2019 Special Storytime and Talk with the Public Health Nurse

To mark World Breastfeeding Week 2019, Gorey library will host a special storytime and talk with the Public Health Nurse to emphasise the importance of establishing exclusive breastfeeding.

Parenting Today is a series of free talks in Wexford County Council Libraries 2019.

The workshop includes:

•A touch pool containing live sea creatures, including starfish, shrimp, anemones, crabs, sea snails and lots more. An interactive display with sea shells, whale bones and stunning images of Ireland’s marine life.

•Qualified marine biologists and environmental educators to answer all those curious questions!

•Participation in our citizen science programme and marine conservation projects, eg. The Purse Search, mermaids’ purses, the eggcases of sharks, skates and rays scheme.

Rebellious Ferment with Barra Boydell

Brian Boydell’s entertaining memoir Rebellious Ferment, focuses on the earlier part of the life and career of one of Ireland’s best-known 20th-century classical composers, broadcaster and often outspoken advocate for music and the arts in Ireland. 

It presents a unique insight into musical and artistic life especially in the early 1940s.

The annual exhibition of photographs from the Gorey Photographic club is running for the month of August in Gorey Library.  

The exhibition will be launched on 1 August at 7pm as part of the Market House Festival launch.
