During Seachtain na Gaeilge come to the library for this lecture focusing on the placenames of Wexford, with placename officer Dr Conchubhar Ó Crualaoich from the Department of Culture, Heritage & Gaeltacht.
Dr Ó Crualaoich looks at the evidence that reflects the gaelicisation of Norse settlers at an early stage and the gaelicisation of many Anglo-Norman place-names as well as many of Anglo-Norman descent.
He will also discuss how the isolation of southeast Wexford from the rest of the English-speaking world led to the fossilisation of their English which is generally described as Yola.
