New Ross Library, as part of the Reader in Residence programme, has launched a supported reading book club for children with dyslexia. Suitable for children aged 8-12.
Reader in Residence, Caroline Busher, explains why this new book club was set up:
‘As a children's author and Reader in Residence I have had lots of parents approach me to say that their children really struggle with reading. Some of them may have dyslexia and others just find reading difficult! These are often the most bright, intelligent and creative children in the class! It is really important to me that these children have access to a book club and feel confident there. I am delighted to announce that New Ross Library as part of the Reader in Residence programme with be bringing the first supported reading book club for 8-12-year-olds to Wexford Libraries in January 2019!’
Please phone New Ross Library on 051 421877 to book a place. Should you require any supports to fully participate in this event, please contact the Librarian.
