Tackling Obesity in the Early Years with Betty O’Neill

Thursday, 7th December 2017 - 7:00pm

In conjunction with Wexford County Childcare Committee, Wexford Library Services and Wexford Children and Young Peoples Committee we are delighted to offer an information session to parents of children under five years old.

Overweight and obesity are largely preventable. However, in the past two decades levels of overweight and obesity in Ireland have doubled.  Now only 40% of us have a healthy weight. The importance of family and the role of parents, together, are recognised as the most influential factor on a child’s eating habits and physical activity in the early years.

Betty O’Neill is a Wexford based Nutritional Therapist who is regularly interviewed on South East Radio with Alan McGuire where she discusses many health topics. Betty also has three children under six years of age who are the lucky tasters and beneficiaries of Betty’s nutritious creations.

Please phone Wexford Town Library on 053 919 6760 to book a place. Should you require any supports to fully participate in this event, please contact the Librarian.
