Often called the eighth wonder of the world, Titania’s Palace was a unique re-creation in miniature of Edwardian palatial living, - a home fit for the Fairy Queen.
Designed by Sir Nevile Wilkinson, master cabinet-makers James Hicks and Sons began to construct it in Dublin in 1907.
With gold, silver, diamonds, pearls, 100-year-old oak panelling, electricity, central heating, and 10,000 artefacts – including a 3,000 years’ old tiny enamel horse from a tomb in the Valley of Kings, - Titania’s Palace was finished fifteen years later.
In this short film, older people recall seeing the famous ‘doll’s house’ in Kilanerin, Gorey.
