Public Participation in the Identification of Bathing Waters
If you are would like to help your Council decide which bathing areas should be designated for 2018, it might be helpful to consider the following:
Wexford County Council has welcomed the recent announcement by Waterford Airport that flights from the regional airport to the UK are to resume from Monday, 24th July 2017. The services to London, Manchester and Birmingham will be operated by a new airline, Aer Southeast.
Aer Southeast will operate from Waterford as follows:
Rural Economic Development Zone initiative
Bunclody Town Team, in conjuction with Wexford County Council and Carlow County Council recently held an Awards Night in Bunclody where they presented certificates to 16 local Community Groups who were recipients of community grants under the government-funded Rural Economic Development Zone initiative (REDZ)
Irish Water has marked the official start of the €16.3 million project to upgrade the wastewater treatment facilities in Enniscorthy, an investment which will bring significant environmental and economic benefits to the area.
Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government Simon Coveney was in Enniscorthy to turn the sod on the project this morning.

Wexford unveiled a fascinating story of Norman descent, with the official launch of The Norman Way heritage and cycling trail on Wednesday last by Minister of State for Tourism and Transport, Patrick O’Donovan TD at Lady’s Island, County Wexford.

New Guinness world record
A new Guinness world record for forming a human punctuation mark was achieved the 6th of April, 2017 in Innovate Wexford Park when 427 persons piled in to break the previous 250 persons record.

The number of public playgrounds in County Wexford is to set to increase significantly, following the adoption today of a new 5-year Playground Strategy by the members of Wexford County Council.

Wexford County Council announces partnership with Bank of Ireland
Wexford County Council has announced it is embarking on an exciting new 5-year partnership with Bank of Ireland to deliver a unique enterprise start-up facility.
Mr. Simon Coveney T.D. Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government has published the draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2018-2021 and invites submissions, observations and comments on the proposed plans during a six month public consultation process.
