In preparation for back to school, all children starting school in September 2024 can collect a free book bag at a Wexford County Council local library as part of the ‘My Little Library Book Bag’ initiative.
Children and their parents or guardians are invited to collect their bag at any County Wexford library. These libraries are based in Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford town. Book bags are available in both Irish and English and contain a book and a cardholder.
The aim of the initiative is to support the transition to primary school, ensuring that all children in the community are equipped with the right resources needed for their education so they start their school journey on the right foot.
Supports to help the transition to primary school are available on the Let’s Get Ready page on Gov.ie.
We look forward to welcoming the children and their carers in to collect their book bags.
The library services are the heart of our community and are committed to supporting education and literacy.
