Fighting Words is coming to Wexford!
Wexford County Council Public Library Service through the Reader in Residence programme is delighted to announce that we are bringing the hugely successful Fighting Words creative writing project to Wexford Town Library in 2019. Fighting Words Wexford is offering free creative writing workshops for primary school children living in County Wexford.
We are looking for volunteers like you to join this initiative which is new to Wexford Town Library. Volunteers will be trained to work collaboratively with schools in the wonderful setting of Wexford Town Library on a Friday morning. Volunteer tutors are people from all walks of life - including third level students (from all disciplines!), retired people, writers (both professional and aspiring), teachers, journalists, visual artists, musicians and filmmakers - just to name a few! Anyone who enjoys working in a creative environment with groups that come to our library - and is a good listener - is welcome to volunteer. You don't need to be a writer or a teacher to be a Fighting Words volunteer writing tutor.
You can send your completed volunteer form or request more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
