Update from the National Emergency Coordination Group on Severe Weather

12.50pm – 19 October 2017 •    ESB Networks has restored over 311,000 Homes and Businesses since Monday.  •    Water has been restored to 91,500 customers, with 17,500, remaining without supply, down from a peak of 109,000.  •    Our road networks are open again, subject to some specific local issues.

66th Wexford Festival - Opening Night Festivities

Winner ‘Festival of the Year’ International Opera Awards 2017 As rehearsals continue for the forthcoming Wexford Festival Opera, recently named ‘Best Festival’ at the International Opera Awards, details of the traditional opening night ceremony have been announced.

Wexford County is pleased to announce the County Wexford nominees for the 2017 IPB Pride of Place competition.   Lady’s Island Village has been entered in the Islands and Coastal Communities category of the competition.     Cumas, New Ross has been entered in the Community Reaching Out Initiative category.   

New Ross parks receive Green Flag award

New Ross Municipal District have achieved notable success following the release of of the 2017 An Taisce Green Flag award scheme results on July 18th. Pearse Park & the Library Park were both awarded Green Flag status following the An Taisce application & inspection process which was completed over the last few months. 

Wind farms noise report

In-depth, extensive noise survey On foot of a number of complaints from the public of noise nuisance from wind farms in north Wexford, Wexford Co Co commissioned RPS Engineering in early 2016 to carry out an in-depth, extensive noise survey of the sound emitting from adjacent wind farms and their wind turbines. The wind farms included in the noise survey were; 

County Council welcomes launch of Aer Southeast’s Waterford to UK Routes

Wexford County Council has welcomed the recent announcement by Waterford Airport that flights from the regional airport to the UK are to resume from Monday, 24th July 2017. The services to London, Manchester and Birmingham will be operated by a new airline, Aer Southeast. Aer Southeast will operate from Waterford as follows:
