Older voices in the Community to be heard “loud and clear”

Wexford County Council will host a meeting on 16th January 2018 at 10.30am in the Riverside Park Hotel for people aged 55 years and older and for the organisations that represent them.

Elections will be held on the day for Wexford’s first ever Older People’s Council.

The purpose of Wexford Older People’s Council is to represent older people in our communities and to ensure that their voices are heard loud and clear. Older People’s Councils often generate fantastic ideas for innovative and creative age friendly projects, tackling a range of issues from isolation and loneliness to fitness and active ageing.

The Council will work in partnership with Wexford Age Friendly Alliance to identify ways to improve the quality of life for older people in County Wexford.

Persons wishing to attend this meeting are invited to register their interest beforehand.  They can do so by emailing agefriendlyprogramme@wexfordcoco.ie or by telephone 053-9196525.
