County Council Rewards Christmas Creativity 2018

Wexford County Council’s highly popular Primary Schools Christmas Decoration Competition came to a close yesterday evening with a reception and prize-giving reception in the Council’s headquarters at County Hall Wexford. Providing a festive note to the start of the school Christmas holidays, dozens of children and their parents, families and teachers joined with Cathaoirleach Cllr. Keith Doyle, elected members, Council officials together with Alan Corcoran of South East Radio at the special awards ceremony. On view on the evening were hundreds of colourful and ingenious Christmas decorations, all of them made from recycled materials by primary school children from every part of the County.

Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2019 - Calling all Community Groups in County Wexford

Following on from the sucesssful applications made in 2017 and in 2018 and in order to prepare for an anticipated announcement in 2019, the Community Section of Wexford County Council intends to hold 4 Open Workshops – one in each of the main towns – to prepare Community Groups to be in a position to make a competitive application if any such funding is made available in 2019.

Bunclody wins Pride of Place Award

Bunclody was honoured at the annual IPB Pride of Place awards held in Cork City Hall on Saturday evening (17 November 2018). The town took first place in the Main Competition Population category 2,000 - 5,000, beating Maghaberry, County Antrim and Thomastown, County Kilkenny to the title.
