ENNISCORTHY PARADE
It is with deep regret and disappointment that the Committee of the Enniscorthy St. Patrick’s Day Parade cancelled this year’s Parade. The Committee had been contemplating such a decision and the Government’s announcement of the 9th March regarding the holding of St. Patrick’s Day Parades resolved the issue. The safety of the public is paramount and their protection from the spread of coronavirus motivated the decision.
The members of the Committee are sorry if the decision caused inconvenience to groups and individuals who had intended to participate in the Parade. All our preparations were almost completed for St. Patrick’s Day, but, alas, it was not to be.
GOREY PARADE
It is with great regret but with public health in mind that the 2020 Gorey St. Patrick’s Day Parade will not go ahead on Tuesday 17th March. The Gorey St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a community event which caters for all age groups and attendees span the generations. The potential risk of community transmission of the virus is a risk the Committee isn’t willing to take. We would like to thank all those groups who had submitted an application to take part in the parade and apologise for the inconvenience caused by the decision taken.
