Following Friday's Government approval to commence Phase1 of the Covid Roadmap to Recovery, Wexford County Council prepares to open beaches and other public outdoors spaces from Monday next 18 May. However, as access to these amenities is restricted to persons living within a 5km radius, beach public carparks will remain closed until further notice. Public health restrictions such as two-metre social distancing will also apply.
Next week’s preparations will include the erection of lifeguard huts, remedial/improvement works to public conveniences and additional signage in respect of COVID-19 Guidelines, together with recruitment and training of Beach Lifeguards and Beach Litter Patrol Staff.
Wexford County Council understands the concerns of members of the public who have been unable to visit our public beaches and other amenities during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We thank the public for its continued understanding and cooperation and we look forward to a time when it will be possible once again for everyone to enjoy Wexford’s fantastic and much-loved range of outdoor amenities.
