Wexford County Council, in partnership with Loci Urban Design, are carrying out a review to help determine the future of the commercial and cultural centre of Enniscorthy town. To fully understand the issues facing your town we are looking for your views and are seeking your help.
In the past the town has faced many economic challenges which is evident in the vacant buildings in the heart of the commercial area, however we also recognise that there are opportunities for growth. Some promising investments are already underway such as the development of the Enniscorthy Business Park, new housing developments and the reuse of St Senan’s. The town is rich in heritage with a strong, proud community with many artistic traditions. It is proposed to work on these strengths and opportunities to create a regeneration framework that will direct future policy and investment for the wider town centre area, as a place to live, learn, work, and relax.
We don’t yet have our vision, so we want to hear what you think.
We need to understand the problems people face in the town, and to hear from you about possible solutions to help us to start to try and fix them.
We will be looking at transport, carbon reduction, biodiversity, age friendly accessibility to create a healthy town and to encourage future economic growth.
This consultation is the start of the regeneration framework which will be used in providing a structure for future grant applications. These ideas will also be incorporated into future plans for the town such as the Area Based Transport Plan and the Local Area Plan, so it is important to get involved now and have your say.
