Householders across Wexford are being encouraged to avail of an upcoming opportunity to dispose of their household hazardous waste free of charge.
The Environment section of Wexford County Council will operate this drop off day at New Ross household recycling centre on Saturday 11th November from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1.00 p.m. until 3.00 p.m.
Hazardous waste items accepted on the day will include
- household adhesives,
- aerosols,
- oil filters,
- household detergents,
- old medicines,
- pesticides/herbicides,
- paint strippers and cleaners,
- paints (maximum 60 litres),
- cooking and engine oils.
The service is being provided free of charge to householders only for the items listed. Recycling and recoverable waste will be subject to the normal €2 entry charge.
Greener cleaning leaflets will be available on the day to help prevent hazardous waste in the home.
The one-day event, funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment and supported by Southern Region Waste Management Office, will be staffed by Wexford County Council and Enva Ireland.
