Change to Public Display Locations

Having regard to the move to Level 3 protocols on the 1st December 2020, the Draft Plan is available to borrow from Wexford County Council public libraries. Please contact your local library to arrange to borrow a copy. The library contact details are listed below. 

The Draft Plan is available to view here, and by appointment at the Planning Department, Block B, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford Town, Y35 WY93.

Reminder on Consultation Period and Making a Submission

Wexford County Council invites written submissions and observations on the Draft Plan and associated Environmental Report and Natura Impact Report. Written submissions and observations in relation to the Draft Plan received by the Planning Authority during the period of Monday, 28th September 2020 to 4pm on Wednesday, 9th December 2020 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan. 

How to make a Written Submission or Observation
Written submissions and observations can be made either:
(1)    Online via the Wexford County Council Online Consultation Portal here

Or

(2)    Submitted in hard copy to Forward Planning, Planning Department, Block B, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford, Y35 WY93. These written submissions and observations should be marked ‘Draft Wexford County Development Plan                2021-2027’.

E-mailed submissions and observations will not be accepted. Please make your written submission or observation in one medium only, that is, either online or in hard copy.   Written submissions and observations received after 4pm on Wednesday, 9th December 2020 will not be taken into consideration. 

When making a written submission or observation, please provide your name, address and contact details.  If you are making a written submission/observation on behalf of an organisation/body, please provide the name, address and contact details of that organisation/body. 

The Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) requires a planning authority to invite written submissions and observations during the preparation of statutory development plans. It further requires the Planning Authority to publish these submissions and observations on its website. This will include the name of the person/body who made the submission or observation. The Planning Authority is required to send certain written submissions and observations to the Minister. Your written submission/observation, together with your name and address, may therefore be sent to the Minister where required. The Planning Act also requires the Planning Authority to list these names in the Chief Executive’s Report to the Members of Wexford County Council and to publish the report on its website. Your name will therefore also be published in that report in the hard copy and online.   Aside from this, the personal information (data) collected during the consultation process (which may include the collection of sensitive personal data) is collected for the purpose of receiving and dealing with submissions and observations and any data collected is subject to Wexford County Council’s privacy statements.  

Copies of the Draft Plan are also available to purchase as follows: Bundle A Volumes 1-3 €100 and Bundle B Volumes 4-13 €100. Please contact the Planning Customer Service Unit at 053 9196101 to arrange the purchase and for any other queries you may have in relation to this stage of the plan preparation process.
