The Community Recognition Fund 2023 aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities in recognition of the local contribution being made by communities, across the country, in welcoming and hosting arrivals from Ukraine and other countries. Sláintecare Healthy Ireland in the Department of Health, working with the HSE and local authorities and community agencies, launched the Sláintecare Healthy Communities Programme to provide increased health and wellbeing services in 19 community areas across Ireland.

The Wexford Sláintecare Healthy Communities Programme operates in designated areas which include Wexford Town, Enniscorthy Town, Taghmon and Edermine.  Introduced nationally in 2021, Sláintecare Healthy Communities is a cross-Government initiative to deliver increased health and wellbeing services, projects and initiatives to 19 community areas across Ireland. The key to the success of the programme is the collaboration and partnership approach to working on the ground in communities. Funded by the Department of Health and managed and run locally by Wexford County Council and the HSE, there are many partners actively involved drawn from state and voluntary agencies as well as local community groups, family resource centres, sports organisation, schools and arts and cultural bodies. Currently a number of initiatives and projects including the sensory garden at Enniscorthy Community Allotments are being rolled out across these areas.
