The Westgate Music Rehearsal Studio Residency Award 2026

Wexford Arts Office and the Wexford Arts Centre are offering a residency award to support musicians in spending six months in Westgate Music Rehearsal Studio – a dedicated workplace for musicians in County Wexford with opportunity to showcase work during the residency in a performance at Wexford Arts Centre. Wexford County Council’s Arts Office is pleased to announce this residency for six months for musicians who are resident in County Wexford.
The residency covers one full day or two half days a week for the period of three to six months. If you have specific times in mind or your group need a concentrated amount of time, please specify this in your expression of interest.
The aim of this residency is to identify emerging and established musicians across Wexford who would benefit from a residency at Westgate.
The space provides free Wi-Fi, parking and a basic Active Speaker PA set and 24 channel Mixer.
What You need to Apply
To apply please send the following two items:

An expression of interest (500 Words Max) – which includes a brief description of the type of music you/the group/Band make and why you would like this opportunity.

Relevant supporting material, this can be Youtube Links, Bandcamp links etc and/or sound recordings

Terms and Conditions

Applicants must be resident in County Wexford.

The residency must be completely within the year 2026.

There is a Vocal PA and mixing desk installed in music room for use. No leads provided. Musicians must bring your own backline, mics, leads and sundries.

SPL levels should not exceed 100 decibels during time in rehearsal studio

There is no technical support supplied with the hiring of this music space or this Music Residency Award. It is the responsibility of the musicians to work in the PA system if they require it and to bring their own leads, sundries etc. The PA system must be left in the condition it was found. If there is any damage to the PA system or mixing desk, they must notify Wexford Arts Centre or Wexford Arts Office immediately.

Wexford Arts Centre and the Arts Office will support advertising and promotion of this event.

If you have specific times in mind or your group need a concentrated amount of time, please specify this in your expression of interest.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age before 31st January 2026

Please acknowledge Wexford County Council Arts Office and Wexford Arts Centre in any promotional materials.

Recipients will be required to provide a short report to the Arts Office with their feedback on the residency.

The residency will be adjudicated by an independent selection panel.

All applicants will be informed of Council’s decisions by email.
