Register of Electors

The last date for receipt of applications to the Register of Electors is Tuesday 12th. November 2024.

The last date for receipt of applications for a Postal Vote is Monday 11th. November 2024.
 

 

Are you Registered to Vote?  Are your details correct?

It is important to check that you are registered to vote and to verify that your details are correct.  
You can check online at checktheregister.ie or at the main office of Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford Town, Y35 WY93.

How can I register to vote if I am not on the register?

If your name is not on the Register of Electors, you can register to vote by entering your details on checktheregister.ie or by completing and returning the appropriate form to the following address –

You can register to vote if you are aged 16 or over, but you will not be eligible to vote until you are 18.  By registering from the age of 16, the local authority will be able to move you to the live electoral register once you reach the age of 18.

                    
 

What elections am I entitled to vote in?

Being on the Register does not automatically entitle a person to vote in all elections, their citizenship determines the type of elections they may vote in. 

  • Irish Citizen – Eligible to Vote in all Elections and Referendums
  • British Citizens – Eligible to Vote in Dáil and Local Elections 
  • Other EU Citizens – Eligible to Vote in European and Local Elections 
  • Non EU Citizens – Eligible to Vote in Local Elections Only
