Prior to 2018 County Wexford was divided into 4 Electoral areas (Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford).
This was examined in 2018 by the Local Electoral Area Boundary Commission who recommended that Wexford should be divided into 6 Electoral Areas (Enniscorthy, Gorey, Rosslare, Kilmuckridge, New Ross and Wexford).
