Wexford Cultural Companions

Wexford Cultural Companions, an Age & Opportunity Arts Initiative

Supported by Wexford County Council and Age Friendly Wexford

Are you over 50?  Are you interested in going to Arts and Cultural events but have no one to go with?

That’s where Cultural Companions comes in.

What is Cultural Companions?

  • Cultural Companions is a nationwide initiative comprising of a network of older people interested in arts and culture who attend events together as a group.
  • Its aim is to provide increased opportunities for older people to engage with Wexford’s vibrant arts and cultural scene.
  • The scheme is facilitated by Wexford County Council who work with volunteer members to draw up a calendar of events to choose from every three months.
  • Membership is FREE.

.

The Cultural Companions Programme has proved to be very popular, with over 125 members signed up to date.  Our February-April calendar of events which has been put together by our volunteers has just been issued with 8 upcoming events to look forward to over the next three months.  Before each event members meet up at a chosen venue and a volunteer welcomes everyone before attending the event together.  This is a great way to meet and socialise with new people and attend events as a group.

If you require more information or are interested in becoming a member please contact Eilish Cullen on 053-9196564 or email cultural.companions@wexfordcoco.ie.
