The Story of Us: Census 1926 Exhibition

This travelling exhibition will be on display in Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Wexford 
from 4th - 21st August 2026

Opening hours: 10am – 5pm (Monday – Friday)


Please note that all events below take place in Wexford County Council, Carricklawn and are free to attend.

 

Lecture: Building stories with the 1926 census and other digital sources – a user’s guide, by Dr. Ida Milne 

11 August 2026 7 - 8pm

Dr Ida Milne

Dr Ida Milne is an academic historian and lecturer at Carlow College and visiting research fellow at the Department of History in Trinity College, Dublin.  Her historical demographic work on the global 1918-1919  influenza pandemic looked at how deaths and illness from the pandemic and other then common infectious diseases affected families across time.

John Nangle

John Nangle is a professional genealogist who has significantly raised the profile of family history research through his beginners and advanced courses in genealogy in the People’s College, Wexford. This session provides a general overview of the information that can be exploited in the 1926 census.

In this session, John will integrate the 3 available censuses (1901, 1911, 1926) and show how the information can be presented for family history research.
