Lady’s Island Village has been entered in the Islands and Coastal Communities category of the competition.
Cumas, New Ross has been entered in the Community Reaching Out Initiative category.

In an operation conducted this morning Monday 25 September 2017, a well-known retail premises on Main St Wexford narrowly avoided having it’s goods seized in an action taken by the County Sheriff on behalf of Wexford County Council.
Emphatically opposed to the suspension of any rail services
Wexford County Council has made a submission in January 2017 in relation to the Rail Review Report published by the National Transport Authority and Iarnród Éireann in November 2016.
New Ross Municipal District have achieved notable success following the release of of the 2017 An Taisce Green Flag award scheme results on July 18th.
Pearse Park & the Library Park were both awarded Green Flag status following the An Taisce application & inspection process which was completed over the last few months.
In-depth, extensive noise survey
On foot of a number of complaints from the public of noise nuisance from wind farms in north Wexford, Wexford Co Co commissioned RPS Engineering in early 2016 to carry out an in-depth, extensive noise survey of the sound emitting from adjacent wind farms and their wind turbines.

Wexford County Council has welcomed the recent announcement by Waterford Airport that flights from the regional airport to the UK are to resume from Monday, 24th July 2017. The services to London, Manchester and Birmingham will be operated by a new airline, Aer Southeast.
Aer Southeast will operate from Waterford as follows:

Bunclody Town Team, in conjuction with Wexford County Council and Carlow County Council recently held an Awards Night in Bunclody where they presented certificates to 16 local Community Groups who were recipients of community grants under the government-funded Rural Economic Development Zone initiative (REDZ)

Forward thinking experience
Wexford unveiled a fascinating story of Norman descent, with the official launch of The Norman Way heritage and cycling trail on Wednesday last by Minister of State for Tourism and Transport, Patrick O’Donovan TD at Lady’s Island, County Wexford.
Irish Water has marked the official start of the €16.3 million project to upgrade the wastewater treatment facilities in Enniscorthy, an investment which will bring significant environmental and economic benefits to the area.
Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government Simon Coveney was in Enniscorthy to turn the sod on the project this morning.
