Help Shape the Future of Wexford Town Centre
Wexford County Council, in collaboration with the Wexford Town Team, is preparing a Town Centre First Strategy as part of the Wexford Town Local Area Plan. This strategy will outline a long-term vision for the sustainable development and regeneration of Wexford Town Centre up to 2040.
The Town Team, a newly formed consultative group representing the local community and key stakeholders, plays a vital role in shaping this strategy. The plan will guide future planning decisions, help secure public funding, and align with the National Town Centre First policy.

Community input is crucial to the success of this strategy. To ensure your voice is heard, we are hosting a walkabout and workshop on Saturday, 15th February 2025.
Walkabout – Explore & Discuss
Starting Point: The Bullring, Wexford
Time: 10:45 AM (registration), starts at 11:00 AM and finishes at 1:00 PM
Join the Town Team for a guided 2km walk around Wexford Town Centre to discuss key issues and opportunities for the area. Insights from this walk will directly inform the strategy.
🔹 Open to all – join for all or part of the walk
🔹 Wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather
🔹 Safety reminder: The walk takes place in public spaces
Workshop – Share Your Ideas
Venue: Whites Hotel, Wexford
Time: 1:45 PM (registration), starts at 2:00 PM and finishes at 4:00 PM
This interactive workshop, led by the Town Team and project consultants, will focus on identifying key priorities and shaping a vision for Wexford Town Centre. Participants will work in small groups to discuss and report on their ideas, helping to guide the future of the town.

This is your chance to contribute to the future of Wexford Town Centre. Whether you attend the walkabout, workshop, or both, your input will play a key role in shaping the Town Centre First Strategy.
We understand that not everyone can attend the walkabout or workshop in person. To ensure all voices are heard, an Online Consultation will be open from Sunday, 16th February to Friday, 14th March 2025 (inclusive).
This will provide an opportunity for individuals and groups to submit their comments, ideas, and suggestions on the future of Wexford Town Centre at their convenience. Further details on how to participate will be shared soon.
