New Ross Municipal District Reminds Contractors of the
Required Permits for Works on Public Footpaths
New Ross Municipal District wishes to remind all businesses, contractors, and residents of the requirement to obtain the necessary licences before undertaking any works or placing any appliances on public footpaths.
An Appliance Permit is required before placing skips, machinery, or materials on any public road or footpath. Permits must be obtained in advance from the District Office.
Public footpaths are vital shared spaces ensuring safe and accessible passage for all pedestrians.
Additionally, the District offers a Daily Commercial Parking Permit for tradespeople and workers needing to park in the town centre to access construction worksites. This permit supports local business activity and can be obtained from the Tholsel in New Ross.
Please note that failure to obtain the necessary permits may result in enforcement action. For applications and more information, visit www.wexfordcoco.ie and search Business Permits and Licences, or call 053 919 6700.
