This community led creative project explores the social life, identity and lived experience of Wexford Quay. Led by Wexford storyteller Joe Brennan, people of all ages will actively collaborate in capturing the stories, memories, and everyday routines of this important public amenity.
Stretching along the waterfront in the heart of the town, the quay occupies a unique place in the life of Wexford town, a place of gathering, work, recreation and social connection. Through conversations, storytelling and workshops, this project aims to map the publics interactions with, and vision for the Quay. These contributions will help shape the creative process and the final artwork.
Over the coming months, keep an eye out for Joe carrying two red chairs along the Quay, inviting passersby to sit down, rest, and share a story. Members of the public are invited to follow updates on social media and join the conversation.
