Wexford Arts Office is pleased to announce the following residencies, mentorships and summer school scholarships awarded to Wexford artists across literature, visual arts and drama in 2023. These are delivered in partnership with key national arts organisations and funded by the Arts Office.
Tyrone Guthrie Bursary
The Arts Department of Wexford County Council is pleased to announce that the provision of two bursaries for the Tyrone Guthrie Centre for 2023 has been awarded to visual artist Olivia O’Dwyer and playwright Megan O’Malley.
This award enables two artists in all art forms who are resident in County Wexford to spend two weeks at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, the artists’ workplace in County Monaghan. Each bursary covers all board and lodging expenses for a two-week period, the use of a studio, and a stipend of €300 towards expenses.
Irish Writers Centre: National Mentoring Programme
Wexford writers, Caroline Lawless and Joy Redmond, have been selected by the Irish Writers Centre to receive professional literary mentoring over the next eight months, as part of their annual National Mentoring programme . Wexford Arts office partners with the Irish writers centre to support the professional development of local writers and funds two mentorships annually.
Drama League of Ireland Summer School Scholarships
The Arts Department of Wexford County Council is pleased to announce that the provision of two scholarships for the Drama League of Ireland’s Residential Summer School which takes place at the University of Limerick from 22nd to 29th July, 2023 has been award to Kathleen Byrne (The Wayside Players Blackwater) and Elaine Jordan (Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group).
The Drama League of Ireland (DLI) is the national representative body for amateur drama groups, societies and individuals. The Summer School facilitates participant’s artistic development by furthering their knowledge and experience with other professionals involved in the theatre-making world.
