The Healthy Ireland Survey 2022 indicated that 24% of eligible respondents had experienced at least one of the four cost challenges measured around period products:
- 10% had struggled to afford period products
- 14% had improvised with materials not intended for use during their period
- 8% had asked to borrow products they couldn’t afford
- 10% had changed to less suitable products due to cost
Free Period Products are now provided, supported by the Department of Health, to help mitigate against known product availability challenges that exist for some members of our community.
Working with Wexford County Council and our Partners, Healthy Wexford have created a flyer highlighting Free Period Product locations
