Wexford Public Library Service is proud to join libraries across Ireland in celebrating Ireland Reads, a national campaign to get the whole country reading during February, culminating with Ireland Reads Day on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
The campaign, part of the government’s Healthy Ireland programme, celebrates and promotes the many benefits of reading for wellbeing and enjoyment. The theme for 2026 is ‘Get Lost in a Good Book’, and Wexford Public Library Service is inviting everyone in Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford to take part.
Exciting events are planned for all ages to celebrate reading, books, and literature right here in the community.

Who can take part? Ireland Reads brings the community together. Everyone: children, teens, adults, older people; inclusive and free.
How can people get involved? Visit, borrow, attend an event, follow us social media.
If you haven’t read in a while, why not start today. Visit your library, borrow today. Start small, choose interest-led titles, ask one of our librarians for recommendations.
