Christmas Opening Arrangements 2025

Public Offices

All public offices of Wexford County Council, with the exception of the Motor Tax Office and Planning Department, will close for the Christmas period at 3:00pm on Tuesday 23rd December 2025 and will re-open on Wednesday 31st December at 9:00am.  

The Motor Tax Office will open from 9:00am to 1:00pm on both Tuesday 23rd December 2025 and Wednesday 31st December.

The Planning Department will close at 4:00pm on Tuesday 23rd December and will re-open at 9:00am on Wednesday 31st December.

All offices will be closed on Thursday 1st January 2026, and will re-open with normal opening hours from Friday 2nd January 2026.

Public Libraries    

Libraries in County Wexford will close at 5:30pm on Tuesday 23rd December and reopen on Wednesday 31st December, from 10:30am to 5:30pm. Libraries are closed New Years Day. Normal hours resume on Friday 2nd January from 10:30am.


The mobile library service will not operate over the Christmas period.


My Open Library Service opening hours are in place in Gorey library and New Ross library over the Christmas period.

Out of Hours

Wexford County Council reminds the public that our Out of Hours Emergency Number 053 9196000 will continue to operate throughout the Christmas period.
