Attention! Businesses/Companies with more than one rate account will only qualify for the RIS Grant once.
A Special RIS for the ratepayers in the former New Ross Town Council rating area was introduced in 2018 to acknowledge the impact of full rates harmonisation on these ratepayers. The Special RIS will be phased back to the General RIS over a number of years.
Ratepayers in the former New Ross Town Council Rating Area experiencing reductions of 12% or greater following revaluation will join the General RIS Scheme in 2020.
Those ratepayers qualifying for the Special RIS can avail of a Rates Incentive Grant of 15%, subject to a maximum grant of €3,000. To avail of the Special RIS;
- Pay your rates in full (less the incentive value) by 31 July 2020
- Commence payment by weekly/monthly/quarterly Bank Standing Order / Direct Debit by 9th April 2020 and clear your rate account (less the incentive value) by 1st November 2020
Arrears on your Account?
The scheme is open to customers with arrears on their accounts where they meet the following requirements:
a) Pay a minimum amount which is equivalent to the annual rates by the same timelines outlined above.
b) Enter into a structured payment plan to address and eliminate the arrears.
Remember, businesses/companies with more than one rate account will only qualify for the RIS Grant once.
