Planning Contributions

Development Contribution Scheme 2018

If you are granted planning permission for a development you may be asked to pay a development levy under the Development Contribution Scheme 2018.  This is in addition to the charges you pay when applying for planning permission.

The levy is based on public facilities you will benefit from including roads, water, sewerage, community facilities and car parking provided by the council.

Requests for Compliance with Financial Conditions of a Planning Permission

Please send any requests either by post to Development Contributions Debtor Unit, Finance Department, Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Co. Wexford, Y35 WY93, or by email to dcdebtorunit@wexfordcoco.ie.

The fee for confirmation of compliance with financial conditions is €25.00.

For compliance or queries relating to any other conditions of a planning permission, including Bonds, please contact the Planning Department.

Temporary Development Contribution Waiver Scheme

The Temporary Development Contribution Waiver Scheme applied to all permitted residential development which met the following criteria –

  • Commenced on site between 25th April 2023 (date of the Government Decision approving the measure) and 31st December 2024 and
  • Is completed not later that 31st December 2026.

Also includes:

  • Commencement notices submitted to the local authority within the 28-day period prior to 25th April 2023 i.e., on or after 28th March 2023, (note that the latest date for the submission of a commencement notice was 17th December 2024, for a commencement date of 31st December 2024) or
  • 7-day notices submitted to the local authority on or after 4th April 2023, (note that the latest date for the submission of a 7-day notice was 17th December 2024, for a commencement date on or before 31st December 2024).
