Problems caused by litter and dumping form the largest volume of environmental complaints received by Wexford County Council each year. It costs Wexford County Council over €2.5m to deal with the effects of litter each year, litter can be harmful to wildlife and it may become a health hazard in some circumstances.
A litter management plan may specify objectives to be attained in litter prevention and cleanliness for designated areas within its functional area and different objectives may be specified for different areas or classes of areas. We can take such steps as deemed appropriate and necessary to attain the objectives of the Plan.
