Wexford County Council received funding from the Local Biodiversity Action Fund 2023 for survey of selected wetlands of ecological interest in North County Wexford. This project follows on from a Phase 1 county-wide desk-based survey undertaken by Wetland Surveys Ireland in 2023. The results of this survey can be accessed here.
The Cathaoirleach of Enniscorthy Municipal District, Cllr John O’Rourke hosted a civic reception for a delegation from Blacktown City, a suburb of Sydney Australia, in Enniscorthy Castle on Friday evening, 25th August 2023. The Civic Reception included the signing of a ‘Sister City Agreement’ between Enniscorthy Municipal District and Blacktown City Council - committing each Council to officially recognizing both Vinegar Hills in commemoration events as well as a commitment to fostering new connections across the areas of tourism, sport, arts and culture.
Wexford County Council is working with consultants Urban Scale Interventions to create a heritage-led regeneration plan for Enniscorthy and we need your input!
A public consultation event will be held during National Heritage Week in Market Square, Enniscorthy, details of which can be found here:
Thursday, 3 August 2023 – Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Wexford County Council, has announced that works to provide an essential upgrade to the sewer network in Enniscorthy will commence next week. The upgrade will greatly improve the water quality in the River Slaney through the decommissioning of an existing outfall pipe, which will benefit homes and businesses in Co Wexford’s second largest town.
